Nurse Practitioner

A Nurse Practitioner (NP) can function similarly to a family doctor, with a few limitations. NPs are qualified to assess, diagnose, and treat medical conditions, prescribe medications, as well as order lab tests and imaging. Unlike MDs, NPs are unable to bill OHIP for their services.
